A Princess of Mars
This series of books is my favorite written by Edgar Rice Burroughs. When I was a child, I remember my mother reading A Princess of Mars to my father and I would listen as she read the fantastical tale of John Carter and his beloved Dejah Thoris. Over the years, since my childhood, I’ve read the the Martian series twice, and a few of the books three times, as well as many other titles written by Burroughs. I watched the recent movie, John Carter of Mars, but the books are by far the best.

I’m very much interested in this movie, toghuh I’m kicking myself for not having gotten around yet to reading the books. I prefer to read the book first normally and this particular series has been waiting on my shelves for me to have the time to get to it for some time. I’d be interested in your take on the movie after you see it, if it’s true to the book or not.

The movie was okay and some aspects were similar. Of course, the characters in the book on Mars didn’t wear clothing as they did in the movie, but that is to be expected. Lol. The book is better.
